Our litigation practice
Civil litigation forms part of KCN’s practice. The firm has three practising lawyers, including two lawyers who handle court work alongside Kevin’s leadership of the firm.
Disputes may arise from commercial arrangements, property, family matters or estates. We first consider the nature of the issue, the parties and whether we can accept instructions.
Before the first meeting
Prepare a short chronology, identifying the main events and dates. Note what you are seeking, what the other party has requested and whether discussions have already taken place.
If you have received court papers or a formal demand, state when you received them and any deadline shown. Keep the papers available, but wait for our confirmation before sending confidential documents.
Discussing available steps
Once we can review the matter, we discuss the issues, evidence and proposed scope of work. Depending on the circumstances, that discussion may include correspondence, settlement discussions or court proceedings.
The appropriate approach depends on the facts and procedural position. We do not promise an outcome or a fixed duration for resolving a dispute.
Sending an enquiry does not create a solicitor–client relationship or mean that we have accepted responsibility for a deadline. We must complete a conflict check and confirm we can act.
