Learning at the firm
Pupillage, also known as chambering, is a period of supervised practical training. Pupils are not lawyers and are not presented as members of the firm’s practising legal team.
Our work includes family law, intellectual property, wills and estates, commercial matters, property, employment law and civil litigation. Depending on the matters available and the supervision required, a pupil’s work may include legal research, drafting, organising documents and assisting with preparation for meetings or court proceedings.
The aim is to develop careful legal work, clear communication and an understanding of professional responsibilities. The work available will vary; a placement does not guarantee exposure to every practice area.
What we look for
We welcome applications that demonstrate an interest in legal practice, clear writing and a willingness to learn. Care with detail, respect for confidentiality and the ability to respond thoughtfully to feedback matter in everyday work.
